Dune opened its first store in London's Kings Road in 1993. The past five years have seen an acceleration of the store opening programme. There are currently 41 Dune stores in the UK, 2 in the Republic of Ireland and 26 concessions in department stores (two in Republic of Ireland). We also have 9 stores operated under license in the Middle East and 1 in Russia, as well as 2 concessions in Sweden. Sales have grown by in excess of 20% in each of the past five years.
Dune has broad geographical coverage across the UK and Ireland with stores in prime High Street and Shopping Centre locations. The latest openings have been in Argyll st and Canary Wharf. In 2006 we opened flagship stores in Covent Garden, London and Glasgow, Scotland.
Dune has invested heavily in store design with new concepts in Covent Garden, Argyll st, Canary Wharf, Dublin, Southampton and Edinburgh. The stores are designed to enhance the product with extensive use of natural materials; limestone for the floors and oak paneling for the fixtures. The use of curved walls and fixtures adds an architectural interest to the design. The distinctive Dune colour palette of beige, pistachio and yellow is embodied in the argyle design that is used in the carrier bag and other point of sale material.
In 2002, 2006 and again in 2007 Dune was awarded Multiple Retailer of the Year in the prestigious Footwear Awards sponsored by Drapers magazine.
